About Sudipta Kundu

Sudipta Kundu works in realistic and mostly figurative themes, influenced by the people he sees around. He uses light and texture in his canvases, lending the images a surreal effect, and adds motifs and objects to create points of interest. Taking advantage of dramatic moments, he wants the audience to "read" his paintings. In his words, "Self expression is very important to me. I do believe that whatever I paint should be simple and can be widely understood by the audience, as well as be soothing to the eyes."
